Tatami Characteristics and Handling
- Please lay Tatami mats on a flat even surface such as hardwood or marble tile flooring.
- The non-slip effect of Tatami mats will be reduced if laying on carpets or rugs.
- Tatami mats should NOT be used with shoes on.
Tatami Maintenance
Our Tatami mats are resistance to mold and mites, but wet Tatami will quickly turn to moldy Tatami. Keep the tatami safe from mold by periodic cleaning and ventilation. Lay the Tatami mats outside on a dry and sunny day to maintain a clean and dry environment.
